In May 2013, the SDL came to town to protest about the extension of a local mosque.  Their arrival sparked public outrage and a bitter clash on the streets of Dumfries followed.  Blood Orange uses verbatim from the events that took place, told through the eyes of an innocent clubber.  The play examines the rise of the far right in rural Scotland, and questions the reality of the neo-liberal state.  Set to a soundtrack of late night Ibiza and presented in an actual night club.  This is the story of love in a hopeless place.
